[ooc: Works for me! LMFAO We'll have to do the token human in the Witcher verse at some point. Drive Stiles lulu. lol Since she's a spaz.]
Stiles had never heard of Witchers. Then again, she hadn't given Peter Hale's bestiary an extensive look. Or the Argent bestiary for that matter. It made her wonder what was or wasn't in there. Then again, she also wondered why in the hell anyone would send a Witcher out anyway. They had enough problems with hunters, as it was. Luckily, they didn't have any problems from Geralt. Him and the alpha of their pack seemed to get along just fine.
"You know... that doesn't sound too bad. Not quite the instrument most would be using though," She says leaning against one of the trees. Her best friend and Derek would probably say that she's a spastic little thing, which was true. She's not as silent as the wolves either.
[ ooc: Purfect. And that sounds good, next time then. ]
Witchers are rare nowadays, scarcer than werewolves and other creatures that had been around since the dawn of time. Jaskier tries to improve Geralt's reputation with his songs, makes him known, but the world was big and he's just a musician. It takes time, so it didn't come as a surprise that not everyone knew of them.
But if they didn't know about them that meant they didn't have any misconceptions and they were able to meet Geralt and the weird young man that traveled along with him without any previous judgmental opinions. Jaskier had been pleasantly surprised that Derek was a reasonable man and willing to clear the issue peacefully. He's never had a lot of contact with werewolves and their friends before and Jaskier had been static at the prospect of getting to know them better.
Now, when Stile's voice reaches his ears, he looks over his shoulder and beams at the woman.
"Ey, nice to see you. I was hoping that one of you might be around." After strumming a few chords, Jaskier turned to face her properly. "I always been fond of the unusual, I guess. And I can pretty much play anything with it, still."
As if to prove the point, he starts to play a melody that he heard on the radio this last summer. "You went out for a walk? Needed some fresh air?"
The world didn't know about werewolves and other supernatural creatures, either. Or, at least, not in her part of the world. People lived in blissful ignorance. More knew about werewolves than anything else when it came to the creatures that went bump in the night.
"Why were you hoping one of us might be around?" Though, she does give a smile at the instrument that he's strumming on. "Not bad." Even if she'd of preferred a guitar. The instrument that Jaskier used was so old fashioned. More than a little old fashioned even.
She gives a bit of a shrug," I'm the only human among a bunch of supernatural creatures, so yes. I needed some fresh air. What has you out and about?"
Ignorant people live happier lives, in Jaskier's experience. Boring ones as well, which is why he doesn't regret his choice in company.
"I wanted to speak to someone who used actual words to communicate, not only hums and grunts. We never got to talk much before when things were crazy, maybe now that they calmed down we could give it try." He stops strumming the lute after Stiles' compliment, waving a hand at her to come closer and sit next to him if she wants.
"Just NOT bad? Ey, this is a classic instrument, it takes skill to master. It's...vintage. Do you play anything? And I'm just human as well, I get the need for fresh air, trust me. Today I just needed a break. You okay? Did something happen?"
Ignorant people tried to harm what they didn't understand. Hell, Stiles even had to explain things to her dad so no one got hurt. Noah Stilinski wasn't happy about the fact that his daughter ran out with wolves, but he couldn't stop her.
"Hey! My best friend uses actual words," Stiles says with a bit of a chuckle. Scott wasn't like Derek though. He was a werewolf and a true alpha, but he was still learning what he could from Mr. Sour Wolf. On top of that, Peter Hale was all grunts and growls too. So, she got it.
"That's what I said, not bad," she says before moving over and sitting down beside him. "It's old fashioned. I don't know about vintage, but definitely old fashioned." As for instruments, she gives a bit of a shrug," No. I play lacrosse, I don't play instruments. Last thing I need is to make someone's ears bleed." She isn't, however, used to anyone asking if she was okay. "Why would you ask that?" Those five words alone might show Jaskier how unused to being asked that was.
