You could try talking but I can't guarantee that would work. Chains would. Don't worry about hurting me, I heal fast. I've survived far worse things.
Being able to shift into a full wolf? It's not exactly hereditary. All werewolves have a small chance of being able to learn how. But it's very rare. Even if your parents can that doesn't mean you will. My sister was the only one of us that could until I learned how. It took a significant trauma though.
What about singing? I have a great voice and they say music can soothe savage beasts. Not like I think of you as one! But you know...full wolf, bad temper. The enhanced healing is a relief but I still don't like the idea of hurting you. And blood makes me sick, actually.
So it can be trained. It must have been really bad to trigger a full transformation. [ It's Jaskier's way of asking if Derek wants to talk about it without actually wording that as a question. it makes it easier to ignore if the man doesn't want to remember what happened. ]
Clearly they haven't tried to prove if that actually work. Beasts doesn't tend to care about music but rather helps them locate you easier.
Trained is a stretch. It took me losing my powers and nearly die to be able to shift into a full wolf. As far as I know you either have it or you don't. Many powers can be trained, that isn't one of them.
Maybe it's best not to test that theory. I like all my organs on the inside. I could still sing for you if you wanted, though.
That is a terrible way to accomplish anything, no offense to you. Sounds a bit like magic. Witches and wizards need to be born with the ability, it can be controlled but not learned from zero.
I don't know how to describe it. Magic doesn't feel like the right word. But then isn't lycantrophy considered a curse by most? Aren't werewolves inherently magic creatures? I prefer seeing it as an evolution. An improvement that has made me stronger. Though I would argue that what I went through to get there certainly was magic, an ritual of sorts. Mind you it was one I didn't volunteer to. I was kidnapped and forced through the ritual that caused me to lose my power by an enemy of mine. A hunter called Kate Argent.
I'll also bring my lute tonight then. I need advice on the lyrics of a few songs, you could give me a hand with those.
I like that, an evolution. No reason why I can't be a bit of both, magic and biology.
There are so many different creatures living in our world that I can't understand why most humans insist we can't co-exist. Especially since we're the ones who cause the most trouble. Kate Argent sounds like an awful person. How did you manage to escape?
The Hunters are certainly the worst of them. They live for killing any and all supernatural creatures. In their minds we need to be hunted to extinction. Even as most of us have adapted to living in society.
I was lucky enough to have people that cared enough to try to rescue me.
You just need to tell me if they sound right or not, that's good enough. I can get a bit carried away and use too fancy words that not all town-folks understand.
People who can't be reasoned with are very dangerous and most deserve. I seen it when they interact with Witchers too, they would rather kill or die that be open minded. Bollocks to them.
Thanks the gods. Friends like those need to be cherished.
We aren't friends. [Said the same way Geralt tells Jaskier that they aren't friends.] Most of them are werewolves. One of them is a banshee and another a kitsune.
Fox spirits. They're usually mischievous but not necessary evil. They use a type of magic called fox fire. Usually to lead people astray. But kitsunes can also watch over forests and aid in times of need.
It's a bit more complicated than that but essentially yes. It's not possession in case you're worried. She's a kitsune because her mother is one. No different from eye or hair color.

Oh, that makes you even more special then. It's in the blood, I take it? An hereditary trait?

I didn't ask for friends like that. But they're stubborn and clings on.

I'm not too familiar with Kitsunes. They're some sort of demon fox...? Or a spirit?

[ Number of people you're fooling with that: 0.
Good job, Derek. ]
Oh, cool. Most creatures are not fully evil, so that doesn't surprise me. The one in your pack is the mischievous sort or the helpful one?
